Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. Burrell was also an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. Burrell is the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef for Food Network. Food Network, as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network star with her trademark spikey blonde hair and bubbly personality, reveals simple to learn techniques and eliminates anxiety about restaurant food on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked in many of the best restaurants located in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy, and battled on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster, living in the New York's upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. Following her graduation with an English and Communication diploma in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the restaurant business by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America. The student says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." The Culinary Institute of the Americas was an excellent place to study. After graduation, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. While in Italy the chef acquired an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine. It made a huge effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids with disabilities. She has been a frequent presenter at conferences, and she travels across the nation in her mentorship role. Anne has always been grateful she had the opportunity to share her love that she had for cooking with others.
